Leadership Change Ahead for Michigan Manufacturers Association

“Under Chuck’s leadership, the MMA has served its members well over the years,” said Bill Henderson, MMA Board Chair. “There have been high-profile accomplishments such as the successful repeal of the Michigan Personal Property Tax, but just as important are the multitude of below-the-radar issues Chuck and his team regularly confront on behalf of our members that continuously improve the manufacturing climate in the state. The board is grateful to Chuck for his service and wishes him a long, healthy and happy retirement.”

Over the course of his tenure, Hadden has helped to position MMA as the leading advocacy voice for Michigan manufacturers. His leadership with MMA drove a statewide ballot campaign to eliminate the industrial Personal Property Tax, saving manufacturers and small businesses $576 million annually. As he transitions over the next year, Chuck has affirmed his commitment to the priorities of the Association and its current projects.

“Working on behalf of Michigan’s incredible manufacturing industry has been my dream job, and I am thankful for every opportunity I have had to help our members compete and grow,” said Hadden. “I look forward to working with the search committee as another passionate, dedicated individual is chosen to ensure the 115-year legacy of the Michigan Manufacturers Association remains strong.”

Prior to leading MMA as President & CEO, Hadden served as the Vice President of Government Affairs from 1994 - 2008 and as the Director of Environmental Affairs for the organization. He has been honored many times over the years for his contributions including a Pollie Award, Most Valuable Professional by Corp! Magazine, and induction into the Michigan Association Hall of Fame.

The Michigan Manufacturers Association Board of Directors has formed a search committee and is partnering with Kittleman & Associates, LLC, a national executive search firm dedicated to the nonprofit sector, to identify their next President & CEO.
