“Michigan veterans are some of the most skilled, well-trained, disciplined and goal-oriented members of the workforce, but unfortunately too many of our veterans are without a job,” said Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. “Nearly one-third of the 45,000 Michiganders who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan alone are unemployed. That is simply unacceptable. Our veterans would be an asset to any employer and American Jobs for America’s Heroes has taken serious steps to help stop this trend and get unemployed veterans back to work in good, well-paying jobs. I commend AJAH for fighting for the ones who fought for us.”

"Companies across the country can now take advantage of the no-cost non-profit American Jobs for America’s Heroes campaign to find an unemployed National Guard member who has the experience and skills they need any time employers have a job opening," said Bob Dorigo Jones, host of the “Let’s Be Fair” radio commentary and senior fellow at the Center for America which created the AJAH campaign with the National Guard. "Employers are assigned a case manager who provides hands-on help from beginning to end and are plugged directly into the National Guard Employment Network. National Guard members are ready at a moment’s notice to help our communities, and now we can help them from the moment they need help finding a job to keep their families going."
