Health Care Claims Tax

The Health Insurance Claims Assessment Tax (HICA) goes into effect January 1, 2012. Most medical claims including medical care, hospitalization, prescriptions, vision and dental claims will fall under this tax. MMA members who participate in our MetLife dental insurance programs received this notice and a copy of the MetLife HICA FAQ in their January, 2012 invoice.
