Get Your Share of $29 Million in Skilled Trades Funding

Is your talent search limited by a lack of funds? The Skilled Trades Training Fund (STTF) could be the answer. With $29 million in available funding and only a small window of time to apply, this is an opportunity your business can’t afford to miss.

What is the STTF?

The Skilled Trades Training Fund is one of Michigan’s most successful programs to combat manufacturing’s talent crisis. Since Fiscal Year 2014, more than 1,400 companies have received awards averaging nearly $34,000 to go toward talent development, improved productivity, and greater employee retention. MMA continues to advocate for more funding as the STTF provides creative, driven, future-focused manufacturers with the tools and talent to compete in a global economy.

What is the application period? The application period for STTF grants is currently closed. Check back later..

What does my business need to do?

Connect with your local Michigan Works! Agency’s (MWA) Business Services staff right away.

All STTF awards will be granted to employers through Michigan Works! agencies. MWA staff will conduct fact-finding sessions with employers to assess their talent skill gaps, suitable training providers and availability of federal funding sources. During the two-week application period, MWAs will submit STTF applications to Michigans Talent Investment Agency on behalf of their partnering employer.
