The struggle to locate future skilled trades talent is a top priority issue for all manufacturers. Thanks to the prioritization of the issue by both the Snyder Administration and House Republicans, new legislation will be introduced following a press conference on Wednesday, 10/17/19.
The new House bills will address key concerns from manufacturers to improve both awareness and training for available manufacturing career paths, including:
- Greater student and parent skilled trade program awareness
- Greater student career exploration
- Real world manufacturing experience for educators
- Boosting CTE instructor recruitment efforts and easing unnecessary restrictions
