Your Vote Decides the Top Three Coolest Things Made in Michigan

LANSING (Sep. 11, 2023) — Thousands of 2023 Coolest Thing Made in Michigan voters have spoken. With a groundbreaking nominee list and the first round of voting over, the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) announced the Top 10 finalists in the Coolest Thing Made in Michigan competition. The second phase of voting, crucial in selecting the Top Three entries, closes on Friday, Sep. 15, 2023. Spearheaded by the MMA, this initiative stands as a cornerstone of the annual Manufacturing Excellence Awards celebration dedicated to honoring the exceptional leaders, companies and products of Michigan's manufacturing industry.

The Top 10 2023 “Coolest Thing Made in Michigan” nominees are:  

• Aluminum Fishing Bait Molds - Angling Ai, Jackson
• Amigo TravelMate - Amigo Mobility, Bridgeport
• Aurora Plasma Thruster - Orbion Space Technology, Houghton
• Custom Chaco Z/Sandals - Chaco, Rockford
• Custom Jeans and Jackets - Detroit Denim, Detroit
• INFRALED PRO Motorized Exam Lights - Kirlin Lighting, Detroit
• LED Sound Activated Guitar Strap - Washington Enterprise, Rochester Hills
• MRI Breast Positioning System - Domico Med-Device, Fenton
• ProShot Concrete Sprayer - Getman, Kalamazoo
• Posi-Snap - GreenRod Solutions, Vermontville

MMA created the Coolest Thing Made in Michigan competition to shine a light on the champions of manufacturing, whose home-grown ingenuity has made this state the most diverse manufacturing center in the world. And, because these products impact more than just manufacturers, the Association is giving everyone in Michigan the opportunity to vote for their favorites. 

“From the tip of the Upper Peninsula to the bottom of the mitten, these nominees exemplify the broad and diverse manufacturing industry here in Michigan,” said Delaney McKinley, MMA Executive Vice President of Operations. “These creative thinkers and doers are leading our industry – and humanity – into the future.”

In Round 2 of the competition, closing Friday, Sep. 15, 2023, anyone can vote daily for their favorite product at micoolestthing.org. These votes determine which products make it to the Top Three. The winner of the Coolest Thing Made in Michigan will be announced live during the Manufacturing Excellence Awards gala on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023 in East Lansing.
