Manufacturers Take Home Two at the 2017 MSAE Diamond Awards

MMA celebrated Diamond Awards for both Innovative Collaboration and Meetings & Expositions during the Michigan Society of Association Executives’ (MSAE) 16th annual celebration of Michigan associations.

The MMA team celebrated Diamond Awards for its talent initiative, PRIME, and the 2017 MFG Forum.

“These awards recognize the hard work MMA does each day to provide members with high-level advocacy, professional development and strategic networking,” says Chuck Hadden, MMA president & CEO. “I want to thank our great team in Lansing and the involvement of our members — manufacturers of all sizes from across Michigan.”

MMA earned Diamond Awards for:

Innovative Collaboration — MMA’s partnership with the SME Education Foundation to bring PRIME®, an employer-driven, customizable talent solution, to local Michigan communities. Already, the program has created a long-term partnership between MMA member Shape Corp. and the Grand Haven Area Public Schools. Conversations continue to develop in regions throughout the state to bring skilled trades training which addresses the needs of employers.

Meetings & Expositions — Providing members with strategies, best practices and networking opportunities to combat the emerging issue of cyber security at the 2017 MFG Forum. Utilizing a new partnership with the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences, MMA brought in the FBI, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, General Motors, Microsoft and other cybersecurity experts to shine a spotlight on an issue responsible for more than $400 billion in intellectual property being lost each year.

MMA also took home additional honors during the Diamond Awards:

  • Gold Award (Membership Development)
  • Silver Award (Website — www.mimfg.org)

“The work we do at MMA is always driven by the needs of our members,” says Hadden. “We develop initiatives like PRIME and events like the MFG Forum so they have the resources to invest in Michigan and provide jobs and opportunities to more than 600,000 people and hundreds of communities statewide. These awards will fuel that fire and inspire us to go further and do more in service to manufacturers.”
