Let Your Voice Be Heard on COVID-19 Workforce Safety Rules

The Michigan Occupational Health and Safety Administration (MIOSHA) Part 505 Coronavirus Disease (COVID–19) Advisory Committee, which will work to promulgate permanent workplace safety rules after the current emergency rules expire in October 2021, will be led by a manufacturing champion. MMA Director of Human Resource Policy Dave Worthams was appointed as a Technical Advisor and was elected Chair last week during the committee’s first meeting.

The advisory committee is actively seeking direct input from employers. Please consider taking a few moments over the next two weeks to let policymakers know your perspective as a Michigan manufacturer. The committee will meet twice weekly over the next two weeks and time is dedicated at the end of each meeting to hear from stakeholders directly impacted by workplace safety rules. Each meeting takes place from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. with public comment at approximately 11:45 a.m.
