Gerdau’s Adam Tabor to be Honored as Manufacturing’s Emerging Leader

LANSING — The Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) is proud to announce that Adam Tabor, finishing manager for Jackson-based Gerdau, has been selected as the 2017 recipient of the MFG Emerging Leader Award. The MFG Emerging Leader Award is given to an individual who has contributed exceptionally to the industry over the last decade and who has limitless potential as a manufacturing leader moving forward. Mr. Tabor will receive the award during the 2017 MFG Excellence Awards on November 9 at the Crowne Plaza West hotel in Lansing.

Mr. Tabor was selected by an independent panel of judges for his desire to show people the beauty and excitement within manufacturing.

“To know Adam is to see just how exciting a manufacturing career can be — his passion for what he does is recognizable in an instant,” says Chuck Hadden, MMA president & CEO. “He has worked his way to a leadership position with a determination that is rarely seen. He is constantly dedicating his time to his team and pushes them to reach their fullest potential. The future of manufacturing will be in good hands with leaders like Adam ready to take the helm.”

The MFG Excellence Awards is a first-of-its-kind gala event to promote the inspiring stories of Michigan’s manufacturing industry, the thousands of unique manufacturing companies across the state, the more than 608,000 Michigan residents employed in the industry and the hundreds of local communities that support it.

In addition to presenting Mr. Tabor with the MFG Emerging Leader Award, the MFG Excellence Awards will also present Governor Rick Snyder with the MFG Leadership Award and recognize some of the Michigan’s most renowned brands for their unwavering support of manufacturing. The John G. Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year Award — an industry staple since 1981 — and awards for lifetime achievement, talent champion, innovation and community impact will also be presented.
