MMA understands how important your employees are to you and how important your employee benefits are to your employees. To help you get through the COVID-19 pandemic, we are pleased to announce the MMA Premium Relief Program that will assist you in keeping these valuable benefits in place for your staff.
What we are doing: MMA will pay 50% of your insurance premiums for you and your employees for the month of May. This will apply to all MMA/MetLife coverages — dental, life, short-term and long-term disability, and vision.
How it will work: Your regular invoice for May will show the full premium owed. Simply pay 50% of the current charges for May, along with the full amount of any past due balance and adjustments. If you are set up for ACH payments, we will automatically reduce your draw to 50% of the premium owed. MMA will pay the other 50% of May premium for you! Your June invoice will show your May charges paid in full.
Who is eligible: All insured member companies that are current in their premium payments. All premiums owed through April must be paid by April 30th in order to qualify.
Why we are doing this: As you know we have worked hard to manage this program over the years, an effort which has resulted in outstanding rate renewals — 0% increases over the last 4 years. In addition, we have been able to build program reserves for a rainy-day fund. That rainy-day has come. Your employees’ benefits are very important to them — now, more than ever. We want to do everything we can to help maintain those benefits for you and your employees in this time of extreme need.
Please be advised that if your employees contribute toward the cost of their benefits, you may need to adjust your payroll deductions to offset for this premium reduction.
