LANSING (Jul 27, 2021) — Nominations close Friday, Aug. 20, 2021 for the Michigan Manufacturers Association’s (MMA) annual MFG Excellence Awards program, which honors the inspiring stories of Michigan’s manufacturing industry by celebrating the thousands of unique manufacturing companies across the state, the hundreds of thousands of Michiganders employed in the industry and the local communities that it supports.
The Awards program recognizes deserving individuals, outstanding companies and noteworthy products across eight categories including the “Coolest Thing Made in Michigan” People’s Choice Award, Community Impact, Emerging Leader, Innovation, Talent Champion, Lifetime Achievement, Woman of the Year and the John G. Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year which honors MMA’s longest-serving president, John G. Thodis. Anyone can nominate and self-nominations are encouraged across all categories.
“The events of the last 16 months have illuminated the extraordinary importance of Michigan manufacturers,” says MMA President & CEO John J. Walsh. “From the shop floor to the front office and into the community, Michigan manufacturers make an impact — an impact for the better — and we want to help recognize and promote their achievements.”
