Industry Member Spotlight: Wire Wizard® Welding Products

Jackson-based Wire Wizard® Welding Products’ mantra is to “create innovative, industry-leading, American-made products that disrupt the status quo.” Based on its core values, history and 76 active patents, the company has clearly stood true to these words.
“We don’t do things just because somebody else does it or because that’s the way the industry has always done it,” says President Brian Cooper. “If we can’t do it in an original, proprietary, patentable way that changes the game, then we’re not really interested in playing that game.”
Founded in 1985 by Cooper’s father, CEO Edward Cooper, Wire Wizard has grown over the years to become a leading manufacturer of welding wire delivery products, high-performance torch products and weld cell support equipment for customers all around the world.
Continuing the Legacy
Named President in 2020, Cooper says he feels blessed to carry on his family’s legacy and follow in his father’s footsteps.
“We were founded as the epitome of the American Dream out of my parents’ home,” he says. “My mission these days is to be able to help my dad see as much success and growth as possible during his lifetime. He really has always done a great job of showing and reminding me that we are nothing without our people. I take extreme pride in employing great American talent, helping them provide for their families and continue to move forward in life.”
The “American-made” value is rooted deep in the foundation of the Wire Wizard, and that’s never been shaken.
Nearly every part in their products and every vendor they use is based in Michigan, usually within an hour from the Jackson facility, and sound business practices and a focus on innovation have fueled Wire Wizard’s growth — as demonstrated by repeated building expansions and an increase of the staff from five to 70 over the years.
Product Innovation
Many of Wire Wizard’s innovations are based on optimizing welding solutions for greater longevity, quality, ease of use and performance. Their most well-known solutions include:

Thodis Michigan Manufacturer of the Year-Small Tier in 2025, Wire Wizard’s consistent growth may be attributed to the fact that people like to buy from people they know, Cooper says.
“Most businesses in our industry are owned by large conglomerates,” he adds, “so we have this really nice niche in the market where people know us well and almost see us as ‘shopping local.’”
